The Lava Run

We now proudly introduce the eight time LAVA RUN at Mývatn May 29th, 2026. The run is from Dimmuborgir to the Mývatn Nature Baths and is a 9,4km long trail run. Included in the registration fee is chip timing and light refreshments after the run and a free entry into the Mývatn Nature Baths.

Note! Transportation from Mývatn Nature Baths to Dimmuborgir is NOT included. It is possible to buy a bus ticket from the Nature Baths to Dimmuborgir, departure at 16:45. The bus ticket costs 2000kr and is only available through pree-booking so make sure to purchase the ticket when registering for the race at the bottom of this page.

Registration fee: 9.900kr

Schedule: 16:00 - Registration opens, pic up bib and timing device.
16:45 - Bus leave from Mývatn Nature Baths (For those that pre-booked ticket).
18:00 - Race starts at the entry of Dimmuborgir (in the parking lot).
