Dyrfjallahlaupiรฐ: Where Nature Takes the Lead
Welcome to a running festival where every kilometer is a masterpiece. Dyrfjallahlaupiรฐ, held in the stunning Borgarfjรถrรฐur eystra, offers unique race routes suitable for all levelsโfrom those taking their first steps in trail running to seasoned ultra-marathoners.
Dyrfjallahlaup Ultra (50 km): Run through the breathtaking landscapes of Vรญknaslรณรฐir (the Trails of the Inlets). With a total elevation gain of over 2,500 meters, this route takes you through deserted fjords and hidden gems like Loรฐmundarfjรถrรฐur, Hรบsavรญk, Breiรฐuvรญk, and Brรบnavรญk. The journey concludes at the finish line in Borgarfjรถrรฐur eystra, right by the famous puffin colony at Hafnarhรณlmi.
Vรญknaslรณรฐir (12 km & 24 km): Experience the magic of the trails. These routes offer a visual feast where bright rhyolite screes meet majestic dark basalt peaks, creating a landscape of stunning contrasts.
