Kerlingarfjöll Ultra
The Kerlingarfjöll Ultra trail race debuted in the summer of 2024. Participants challenged themselves on three routes through rugged geothermal areas, deep canyons, dramatic mountain peaks, and, of course, past "Kerling"—the rock pillar that gives the mountains their name. Participation exceeded all expectations, selling out in just a few days.
The Kerlingarfjöll Ultra returns on July 25, 2026. Preparation for this adventurous experience is well underway, with ticket sales set to open at 12:00 on November 3, 2025.
