The Heart Day Run – takes place on Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 AM at Kópavogsvöllur Stadium.
Two timed distances are available: 5 km and 10 km. Both races start at 10:00 AM at Kópavogsvöllur, with the route going out to Kársnes and returning to the finish line at Kópavogsvöllur.
There will be a water station halfway along the route (at 5 km) and at the finish line.
The race is a certified road race by the Icelandic Athletic Federation, and results will be recorded in the official performance database for those who wish.
Toilettes are inside the facility.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both male and female categories for each distance.
Children aged 12 and under who participate will receive a recognition award.
The prize ceremony will take place immediately after the race.

Registration closes at midnight Sept. 10th. Only 400 bib numbers will be available.
10 km race: ISK 5,000
5 km race: ISK 3,000
Children aged 15 and under: Free of charge
Race materials can be picked up at the store Hlaupár, Fákafeni 11, during the week of September 7–11, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Participants are encouraged to wear red.
The Heart Day Run is held in celebration of World Heart Day, which is observed in over 120 countries each year. The goal of World Heart Day is to raise public awareness and knowledge about the dangers of cardiovascular diseases and to promote healthy lifestyles, so that children, youth, and adults around the world can enjoy longer and healthier lives.
