ÍR New Year's Eve Run

Every year the ÍR track and field club of Reykjavik celebrates the end of the year with its New Year´s Eve 10k run on December 31st. Held in downtown Reykjavík, the run attracts both elite runners as well as recreational runners of all ages. It has become a tradition for runners in Iceland to end the year with this fast course 10k. Many participants dress up and run in costumes and a special prize is awarded to the most unique costume. There is also a 3 km fun-run. Many runners from abroad participate in this 10K run and then enjoy the unique bonfires and spectacular fireworks in Iceland on New Year´s eve.

9:00-11:00 Bib Pickup in Harpa
12:00 Race starts in Kalkofnsvegur
13:00 Price ceremony in Harpa
13:30 Timing stopped. 

Course

Bib pickup

Runners can pickup their registration package on Monday   29th of December and Tuesday 30th of December at Sportvörur, Dalvegur 32A, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. 

On the 31st of December the bib pickup will be in Harpa concert hall, Austurbakki 2, 101 Reykjavík

Water and energy drinks will be supplied in the start/finish area and at 5k.

Results

Timing and track control will end 90 minutes after the race starts. Results will be published in real time and times will be sent to runners via SMS. Results for medal positions are confirmed at the award ceremony, but otherwise the publication of results on timataka.net is considered legal publication of results.
